 Seminar:

“Dental Computing, Soap to Nuts”

This is a very intensive but entertaining presentation of the critical aspects of modern dental computing. Staff are welcome and will benefit from the seminar but the information is aimed more towards the “decision makers” … the practice managers, management consultants, IT consultants, accountants and dentists. This course will save you thousands of dollars while boasting your production, collections, and credibility with your patients.

Major topics include:

The Infrastructure: how do build an reliable, stable, user-friendly system of computers, printers, Internet connections, and backup devices without spending a fortune? It is actually fairly easy but it is not what you hear from most computer sales people. What common practices “destabilize” dental computer systems? How do you prevent the “computer code blue” and how do you deal with it if it happens? The seminar includes written office procedures to ad to your office procedure manual.

Internet and Internal Security: What are the practical steps you need to take today to protect both your vital practice data and your patients confidential information from “phisisng,” “key loggers,” identity thieves and just run of the mill burglars? Even if you have only one computer, there are some very basic things you should do.

Backup: What exactly is your backup system supposed to do and how do you ensure it will really work when you need it? Bring your IT person to this seminar and we will open their eyes! We will also give you some written criteria for your IT agreement.

The “Fun Stuff:” There are thousands of computer-related gizmo’s now on the market. How do you choose the ones that will benefit your practice and your patients? What practice management software features are really useful and what other features simply drive up your training costs? What should you look for in radiography and imaging software? What is “Swiss Army Knife” software and why would you need it? This is the longest section of the seminar. It covers many different products from many different vendors and shows you how to pick the few products that will benefit your unique situation the most. You will see how some of these products fit together in a “live” demonstration of the lecturer’s paperless practice.

Training, Training, Training! We all know its important but why doesn't it “take” most of the time? How can you easily and quickly move staff towards more job skills that benefit everyone? A few very simple requests from your trainers will make all the difference.

Bruce A. Stephenson, DDS, FAGD has been a practicing dentists since 1977 and has been lecturing, consulting, and writing about dental computing since 1985. He will show you things you will not see anywhere else.
